Not Every Hauler Service Is Right for Your Business

Open any hauling app, request a driver and someone accepts. From the outside, most on-demand platforms look similar — a couple button taps and a driver with a truck shows up. How that Hauler shows up, what they show up with and whether anyone vetted them before they accepted the job, is not the same everywhere.
It doesn't matter if it's a single piece of equipment in a pickup bed or a full trailer load — the moment your equipment or materials leave with someone else's driver, their gear becomes your liability. A driver who shows up without the right hardware, the right straps or even without the most basic PPE isn't a smaller risk just because it's a smaller job. It's the same risk, every time, regardless of load size.
Here at FERO, every Hauler is held to a standard before they're ever allowed to see any loads:
Personal Requirements
- Valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle class
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record
- No DUI / DWI in the past 7 years
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
- No at-fault accidents involving injury in the past 3 years
- Active auto or commercial liability insurance meeting FERO minimums
Expected Equipment
- Vehicle
- 20 years old or newer that meets the latest safety and environmental standards
- Trailers
- Trailer inspected and confirmed fit for the job before approval
- Hauler's towing experience verified before a trailer is accepted for use on the platform
- 4 Ratchet Straps
- 4 Chains
- 4 Binders
Safe Connections
- 2" or 2 5/16" Ball Couplers
- Pintle-Ball Combination Hitches
Bumper-mounted ball hitches are not adequate — and are not accepted.
Expected PPE
- High-Visibility Safety Vest or Shirt
- Steel-Toe Boots
- Eye Protection
- Hard Hat
- Gloves
All Haulers must pass a test before being allowed on the FERO Platform.
This isn't a suggestion Haulers can skip and it isn't scaled down for smaller jobs. It's the standard every FERO Hauler meets before your equipment or materials ever touch their vehicle.
If you're making hauling decisions based solely on price, just remember that cheaper doesn't equal better or safer. FERO vets every Hauler, before they can even see the jobs — let alone your job — no exceptions.
