    SHIPPER FAQ

    STRAIGHT ANSWERS:

    NO RUNAROUND

How Do I Post a Load on FERO?

Sign up and enter your pickup location, drop site, material type and timing. You'll see your price instantly, set by vehicle type and haul distance and book a vetted local Hauler in minutes.

What Kinds of Materials Can I Ship Through FERO?

FERO is built for construction freight, equipment, tools, lumber, pipe, concrete, landscaping supplies, electrical materials and more. If it goes to a jobsite, we can move it.

    How Are Haulers Vetted?

Every Hauler on FERO goes through a screening process before they can accept loads. You're not getting a random Hauler, you're getting someone who's been checked and cleared.

    How Is Pricing Determined?

Pricing is calculated based on vehicle type, trip distance and time. Pickup truck loads typically range from $75–$200 depending on distance. Trailer loads and heavy equipment hauls are priced higher. You receive a firm cost estimate before confirming every load — no surprise charges.

What Equipment and Materials Does FERO Haul?

FERO moves construction equipment including scissor lifts, mini-excavators and skid steers, plus materials like lumber, drywall, pipe, concrete and roofing supplies. Pickup truck bed loads up to 4,000 lbs. Trailer loads up to 10,000 lbs. Towable equipment up to 18,000 lbs. Items up to 22 feet in length. Vehicle types include pickup trucks (6–8 ft beds), flatbeds (8–22 ft), utility trailers (12–20 ft) and deck over trailers (16–24 ft).

What Happens If Loading or Unloading Takes Longer Than Expected?

Every load includes a 30-minute pool of time that covers waiting, loading and unloading combined. It doesn't matter how those minutes are used, all at pickup, all at drop or split across both stops, 30 minutes is the total included time for the haul.

Once the aggregate time across all stops exceeds 30 minutes, a wait time fee of $1 per minute applies.

The clock starts automatically when your Hauler arrives at the pickup location and marks their arrival in the FERO App. From that point, time in the App tracks across each phase of the haul.

There is no cap on wait time fees, but FERO Support will proactively reach out to you, your pickup contact and your Hauler once 20 minutes of additional time has accumulated, so no one is caught off guard by a charge at the end of the haul.

The best way to avoid wait time fees: have your load staged, accessible and ready to go before your Hauler arrives. A Hauler who shows up to a ready load is a Hauler who gets back on the road faster and keeps your costs down.

Is FERO a Trailer Rental Service?

No and FERO is often a smarter alternative. Instead of renting a trailer, driving across town to pick it up and hauling it yourself, FERO matches you with a vetted local Hauler who already has the right vehicle and trailer for your load. You skip the trailer rental, the deposit, the fuel and the windshield time.

Can I Get a Pickup Today?

Yes. FERO is built for same-day, on-demand hauling. Most loads in active markets can be matched and picked up within hours of posting, often within an hour or two during business hours.

Is FERO Available for One-Time or Recurring Hauls?

Both. FERO handles one-time emergency hauls and ongoing recurring deliveries when your own drivers are stretched thin. No contract required. You use it when you need it.

How Is FERO Different From a Freight Broker?

FERO connects Shippers directly with local vetted Haulers through the App and web Portal, eliminating the broker layer, the broker markup and the multi-day quoting process. You see firm pricing upfront and your load is matched in minutes, not days.

    What Insurance Does FERO Carry?

FERO maintains supplemental commercial auto liability and cargo insurance on top of every haul. Every Hauler on the platform also carries their own personal auto or commercial liability policy that meets FERO's minimum coverage requirements before they can accept loads.

Can Enterprise Shippers Integrate FERO via API?

Yes. FERO offers API integration for enterprise Shippers with existing dispatch, procurement or ERP systems. Contact the FERO team to discuss API access and integration timelines for your operation.

Is There a Broker Fee or Markup?

No. FERO removes the broker entirely. You're matched directly with Haulers and pay for the haul, not someone else's overhead.

    What Markets Does FERO Serve?

FERO currently operates across Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida, with more states launching. Contact us if you need coverage in a new market.

Can I Set Up Recurring or Multi-Stop Deliveries?

Yes. FERO handles one-time moves and multi-stop drops. Recurring site deliveries are on the roadmap, contact us to discuss your project needs and we'll let you know when that capability is available in your market.

Do I Need to Download an App to Ship With FERO?

No. Shippers can schedule, track and manage loads from the web Platform. The mobile App is available too, your call.

    What Vehicles Does FERO Use?

FERO Haulers run Parcel Vans (up to 100 lbs), Pickup Trucks (cargo beds 6–8 ft, payloads up to 4,000 lbs with towables up to 18,000 lbs) and Trucks & Trailers (up to 10,000 lbs) for heavy equipment, oversized materials and multi-stop deliveries. All vehicles have a GVWR under 26,000 lbs.

What If There's a Problem With My Delivery?

Every FERO delivery is backed by FERO Support. If something goes wrong on a pickup or drop, contact Support through the App or web Portal and a team member will work the issue with you and your Hauler in real time.

Is FERO a Construction Material Delivery Service?

Yes. FERO hauls building materials, lumber, concrete supplies, MEP materials and equipment to and from construction jobsites. Same-day delivery available in all markets.

Can FERO Act as an Equipment Hauling Vendor for My Construction Company?

Yes. Construction companies use FERO as an on-call hauling vendor — no contract required. Post a load and get matched with a vetted local Hauler in minutes.

What Types of Construction Equipment Does FERO Transport?

Scissor lifts, mini-excavators, skid steers, boom lifts, generators, compressors and other towable or flatbed-transportable equipment up to 18,000 lbs.
