Why FERO Was Created
The Solution Scott Wished He Had
By Team FERO
Our CEO and founder, Scott Lowman, spent nearly 20 years in equipment rental. He kept seeing the same problem at branch after branch.
When a driver wasn’t available, somebody else dropped what they were doing and made the delivery. A transfer between yards or a supposedly quick customer delivery pulled that person off the job they were hired for. It wasn’t unusual for someone to lose a third of their day on a run like that.
The customer got taken care of, but the branch lost a big chunk of someone’s day to do it. And he understood why that happens. Scott never wanted to say no to his customers. But he also always believed there had to be a better way.
Later, in software sales leadership, he saw how technology can improve the way a business runs. Set next to what he’d seen at the branches, the idea was clear: build a system that lets companies take care of their customers fast without pulling their team off their jobs.
Choosing the Latin term for “I carry,” he started FERO.
Like a Load Board But Better
FERO isn’t a load board, so there’s no waiting for bids or haggling. FERO matches the load with an available, vetted local Hauler so whatever you need moved gets rolling as fast as possible.
Posting a load takes about two minutes. Enter what you want moved, add the pickup and drop-off locations and choose the vehicle you need to carry it.
Customers still get taken care of quickly, but productivity is restored because teams keep doing what they were actually hired to do.
Obviously, FERO began by working with equipment rental companies. Then building suppliers, specialty contractors and construction sites began signing up to use FERO too. Since then, truck dealers, manufacturers, retail and hospitality companies have joined in. It turns out, nobody wants to wait for what they need to keep working.
Not surprisingly, of all the Shipper accounts that have ever placed an order with FERO, 3 in 4 have ordered again. Among the accounts that placed another order, the median time to get there is seven days, and about half placed their next order within the first week.
FERO started in Phoenix to solve a problem our founder kept running into in the industry he came up in. But now, FERO is rolling out to help companies across Arizona, Texas, Southern California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada and New Mexico.
And we’re just getting started.
Stats: lifetime Shipper accounts through Oct 2026. Repeat-order timing is measured among accounts that have ordered at least twice.
